ABOUT THE AUTHOR


Cynthia Lindenmayer is the successful author of four books.

Her first was a memoir entitled Reflections of a Queensland Country Girl, an authentic and charming account of aspects of her childhood in rural Queensland, which was complementary of her late father’s bush pioneering tale, Walk a Mile in My Shoes (Tom Collins, CQU Press, 1999).

With her second book, entitled Myra’s Escape from the Shadows, Cynthia ventured into feminist fiction with a truly fascinating plot about a middle aged woman who, feeling betrayed in her marriage, struck out bravely on her own in search of (and finding) new relationships and exciting adventures.

In Guilty Secrets Cynthia continued her development as a fictional writer with the production of a novel which, although essentially feminist fiction, will have much broader appeal to all who enjoy a gripping story of intrigue, romance, betrayal and violence, in an everyday setting.

With her most recent novel, Façades, Cynthia has continued her exploration of the steamier side of romantic fiction, but with a hard edge. In the course of recounting the erotic activities of her two main characters, Cynthia also examines their motivations and their innermost thoughts and feelings, whilst touching on other topical issues, including homosexuality and cyber bullying. It is a novel, not for the faint-hearted, but for the worldly.

Cynthia lives with her editor husband, now retired Family Court Judge, Travis, in suburban Brisbane and in Cairns. She is the proud mother of two adult sons, and three much loved grandchildren.
